LSU v Tulane – Saturday, Oct 31 (600p, TigerVision):

Long I pondered Coach Miles’ cryptic talk of victory. Time has proven him wise. For from incoming freshmen to seasoned alumni, the word has spread that bold Jefferson and his 114, under the bright lights of Tiger Stadium, fearlessly engaged enemy after dangerous enemy! Not just for LSU, but for all Tiger Nation and the promise this Nation holds. Now, here on this ragged patch of earth called Death Valley, let the Green Wave face obliteration!

Just over there the Greenies huddle, sheer terror gripping tight their hearts with icy fingers — knowing full well what merciless horrors they shall suffer at the passes of Jefferson and the runs of Scott. Yet they stare now across the Eye at 114 Tigers commanding 90,000 TIGER FANS!

Even if it were true that the Green Wave could outnumber us a paltry 3 to 1, these are good odds for any Tiger Fan. This day we rescue a world from tyranny, elitism, and ugly uniforms…and usher in a future even brighter than the Lights of Death Valley!

Give thanks, Tiger Nation, to Jefferson and the brave 114. TO VICTORY!!!

LSU v Auburn – Saturday, Oct 24 (630p, ESPN2): “What was USC in Pete’s first year?”, Aubbie HC Chizik screamed, “6-6…Stoops was 7-5 his first year at Oklahoma! And Nick the Dick went 7-6…so suck on that!” The specter of Terry Bowden, who won his first 20 starts at Auburn and is 8-0 in his reincarnation at North Alabama, haunted Chizik’s press conference after his Aubbies suffered their 3rd loss to 9th-ranked LSU tonight. The Tigers’ bye week break a) kept the Unsupervised Nation from going on triple-secret tailgating probation, and b) produced a monstrous DC Chavis defensive scheme…Aubbie QB Todd absorbed 7 sacks as the LSU defense, led by LB Cutrera‘s sack for a safety in the 2nd qtr and pick-six early in the 4th, emasculated the previously 8th-ranked offense in the nation. In redemption for the Fla loss, LSU QB Jefferson’s decision-making vastly improved as he directed scoring drives on the first 3 possessions of the game, finishing 19-27 for 253 yds and 3 TD’s. A rare highlight for the Aub offense came off RB Tate’s 47 dive run that took him to the 12 yd line…LSU defense held the Aubbies to a Byrum FG. ESPN suffered its own wardrobe malfunction, as Lou Holtz goes -on-air wearing a purple and pink “I Love My Wife’s Taco!” t-shirt in support of cervical cancer research.
